Meatballs are a classic favorite, but they also make a great appetizer. Variations are endless, but the Asian-inspired flavors in this creative twist are sure to be a hit at your next get-together.
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 cup + 1 teaspoon soy sauce, divided
- 1 pound Certified Piedmontese ground beef
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
- 1/4 cup tomato paste
In a large bowl, combine the garlic, ginger, 1 teaspoon soy sauce, and ground beef. Mix well.
Shape into 1-inch balls. Place in a 9-inch by 13-inch baking dish coated with cooking spray. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes or until cooked all the way through.
In a large saucepan, combine the vinegar, tomato paste, honey, and remaining soy sauce. Cook and stir over medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes. Add the meatballs; heat through. Serve.
