Garlic Herb Prime Rib is a show-stopping main course! A beautiful Prime Rib roast is rubbed with a garlic herb butter and roasted until perfectly pink on the inside. Each bite is tender, flavorful and loaded full of beef flavor. Serve this for any special occasion or holiday table.
- 1 Certified Piedmontese Beef Standing Rib Roast
- 1 stick (8 tablespoons) butter, very soft
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
- 2 tablespoons chopped garlic
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Prior to cooking, allow the roast to come to room temperature for about 1-2 hours on the countertop.
Preheat your oven to 500 degrees. Place the prime rib roast in a roasting pan fitted with a wire rack. Pat dry with a paper towel. Evenly rub down with the salt and pepper.
In a small bowl, combine the butter, rosemary, thyme and garlic. Cover the entire top of the roast with the garlic herb butter and adding any extra onto the sides. The butter will melt down and cover the sides as the roast cooks.
Roast at 500 degrees for 15 minutes. Reduce the oven temperature to 325 and roast for about 2 more hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 125 degrees in the thickest part of the meat. Check the temperature on the roast about every 30 minutes to be able to properly track the cooking time.
Allow the meat to rest for 10-15 minutes prior to slicing and serving. Enjoy!
*Notes:
If using a boneless Prime Rib, the cooking time will need to be adjusted as it will cook faster.
Prep time includes 1 hour of allowing the roast to come to room temperature on the countertop.
